In the first quarter of this year, the balance of non-bank credits and financial leasing of non-bank credit organizations (NBCO) and Savings and Credit Associations (SCA) amounted to MDL 12.9 billion, of which MDL 11.8 billion were provided by the NBCO sector and about MDL 1.1 billion by SCA. Compared to the first quarter of 2021, the portfolio of non-bank credits and financial leasing increased by 19.4% (approximately MDL 2.1 billion).
The number of non-bank credits (NBCO and SCA) beneficiaries remained relatively constant compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to about 433 thousand people. Thus, there is an uptrend of the average value of a non-bank credit granted per system: at the end of the first quarter of 2022 it amounted to about MDL 30 000, compared to MDL 23 000 recorded in 2021. Sectoral, compared to the previous year, the average value of a credit granted by NBCO and SCA increased by 30% and, respectively, by 22%.
The overall assets value of entire non-bank credit sector (NBCO and SCA) increased by MDL 2.3 billion compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to MDL 14 billion, as of March 31, 2022. Thus, the assets held by NBCO sector reached to MDL 12.8 billion (increasing with 20.7% compared to March 31, 2021) and the consolidated volume of SCA sector assets exceeded MDL 1.2 billion (6.7% more than in the first quarter of 2021).
At the same date, the NBCO’s own capital amounted to over MDL 4.5 billion, increasing by 16.3%, and the equity accumulated by the SCA amounted to over MDL 412.1 million, increasing by 10.2 % compared to the similar period of 2021.
As of April 1, 2022, the Register of Authorized NBCO included 136 companies with the right to conduct non-bank credit activity. At the same time, 29 NBCO’s have their activity suspended and/or deleted, 227 SCAs of which 163 of A category and 63 of B category are licensed to carry out their professional activity and one SCA has the license of the central national association.
