The NCFM representatives participated in Europe's largest insurance event

The National Commission for Financial Markets (NCFM) delegation, led by the vice-president Mr. Adrian Gheorghiță, participated in the XXIII edition of the International Insurance-Reinsurance Forum (FIAR) during May 22-24, 2022, in Bucharest.

The major event in the insurance industry in Central and Eastern Europe, organized by XPRIMM, brought together over 250 professionals in the field of (re)insurance, representatives of brokerage firms, members of authorities and associations, as well as specialists in related fields, both at national and international level.

For three days, the participants had the opportunity to attend specialized workshops and social events that took place in an interactive, dynamic format, with a content focused on four current topics: "Insurance Market Trends", "Motor Insurance", "Insurance Brokerage" and "Health Insurance".

During the Conference dedicated to insurance market trends, as guest of honor, the NCFM vice-president Mr. Adrian Gheorghiță made presentations on the insurance market in the Republic of Moldova and challenges it faces.

The main aspects mentioned referred to the insurance market structure in Moldova, its evolutions and the new legislative regulations that will enter into force starting with January 1, 2023. Mr. Adrian Gheorghiță also specified that non-life insurance segment, which has a share of 95% dominate insurance market and only 5% going back to life insurance. Referring to the insurance classes, the NCFM vice-president mentioned that MTPL holds over 70% of the market.

During the visit to Bucharest, the NCFM delegation also had a meeting with the representatives of the Romanian Financial Supervisory Authority. The discussions focused on the intensification of the bilateral collaboration, exchange of experience and financial inclusion.
