In these difficult times for the Ukrainian people, the National Commission for Financial Markets raises awareness of all parties involved in the process of motor third party liability insurance and comes with the following clarifications:
After declaration on 24.02.2022 of the state of emergency according to Parliament Decision no. 41 and considering the Disposition no. 1 of the same date, the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the Republic of Moldova, in connection with the outbreak of military conflict in Ukraine, the National Commission for Financial Markets informs that foreign nationals entering the Republic of Moldova with vehicles registered in Ukraine and do not have an insurance policy of the "Green Card" system, issued by the insurance companies from their state, are supposed to conclude, within 24 hours, internal motor third party liability insurance contracts, issued by licensed insurers from the Republic of Moldova.
Vehicles, which are transiting the territory of the Republic of Moldova, in order to have motor third party liability insurance coverage in the Euro zone, are to contract the insurance at the border with Romania, issued by the Romanian authorized insurers.

The Non-Banking Supervisory Authority of the Republic of Moldova urges the entire insurance community to show solidarity and understanding in order to provide the necessary information and support to Ukrainian citizens who are forced to leave their country.
